The Oaks
The Oaks is just minutes from UNC Chapel Hill, the North Carolina Botanical Garden, UNC Finely Golf Club, and Mason Farm Biological Reserve, which includes tranquil walking trails. The neighborhood is also only 15 minutes from Duke University. The first homes in The Oaks were developed in the early 1970's with an additional, larger phase of home development built later in the 1980's. As both sections of the neighborhood have a Chapel Hill address, residents can typically choose their school district. Most of the homes are located within the Chapel Hill School District while other homes are technically located in Durham County and can use Durham County Schools. The homes are on the larger side, and the neighborhood has beautiful landscaping and manicured streets.
